I purchased a 4.5 lbs package of Tyson's chicken thighs. After removing them from the package I discovered extra fat not trimmed away and hidden (tucked out of sight) beneath the thigh.
The thighs had almost 1 lbs of fat. 7/8'sof a pound to be accurate out of the 4.5 lbs which includes the bones. Now the fat over the thigh is reasonable but leaving an extensive tail of fat tucked under the Thigh... out of the consumers view is unacceptable profit margin.
Tyson's butchers might have well left their thumb on the scale as in the old days. No one would buy a steak or other cut of meat with visible extra fat left on.
If this is an industry practice why tuck the fat out of sight? I will not purchase their products again.
